Agility

Picture
We are temporarily closed for Agility as we are looking for a new outdoor venue. We will post on here and on our social media once we have found the right place and are able to re-start our agility training.

Agility is a fun activity for dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds. The sport is a great way for you and your dog to work together as your dog follows your guidance to negotiate a series of obstacles, such as jumps and tunnels.
The way in which we teach agility ensures that the health, fitness and well-being of your dog is paramount. We use techniques and exercises designed to minimize injury, and build strength and flexibility. Your dog will not be permitted to use any agility equipment until we are satisfied that he/she will use it in a safe way.  We work on warm up, flat work and handling exercises that will introduce your dog to the basics of agility movement.
We focus on teaching the right movement and use of equipment.
Any equipment used with puppies and adolescent dogs is very low impact to ensure developing joints are protected.

Private Agility (5 private sessions)

These sessions are suitable for complete beginners AND those who want to focus on specific areas.
If you're new to agility, we will
concentrate on teaching your dog focus and engagement and introducing verbal and visual agility cues. We work on warm up and handling exercises that will introduce your dog to the basics of agility movement. We focus on teaching the right movement and use of equipment. Any equipment used is initially low impact to ensure your dog is protected.
Depending on your progress, we
would expect the sessions to cover:
  • improving focus and attention
  • how to keep your dog fit and avoid injury
  • simple warm up, foot placement and stretching exercises
  • teaching your dog to respond to simple verbal & visual agility cues
  • start line sits
  • confidence around basic equipment
  • jump form and contact points
  • introduction to tunnels and weaves
Your dog should be able to complete a simple sequence by the end of the 5 sessions.
If you and your dog are already experienced in agility, we will use the sessions to take your performance to the next level.
Dogs attending must have a good level of obedience (including recall) in order to use the equipment safely and must be physically fit. Handlers should also be able to move easily around an agility course. That said, if you do have any issues with mobility, we can focus on teaching your dog to run on and have good response to verbal cues.

Our sessions are by arrangement
£125 for 5 private sessions (60 mins each)
